personal activism = global activism

Committing our lives, or a large share of our resources is not the only way to make a contribution to improving our environment. Every action has an effect and EACH of us in small ways can make a combined difference.

I am only now beginning to learn the ways in which our world is in need of urgent attention. What I do know is regardless of cause, we each have the power to make a difference.

Take the the fight against deforestation;
often people feel that saving a piece of paper the size of the corner of a notebook sheet won't make a difference. It is after all "just a piece of paper" - WRONG. If we look at our actions as part of a collective of time and people, we would see that saving the equivalent of that little piece of paper every single day for our lifespan adds up to a significant amount. And in doing so, we influence others to do the same. And if they encourage more people, imagine the IMPACT that can have?

Every day in a myriad of ways we each can make a difference. This is personal activism. What small activity can you do everyday to make a difference?
